The Occlusion, the TMJ and Orthodontic Treatment

Program Highlights

Case Presentation and Discussion Segment
This course presents a comprehensive review of the management of orthodontic patients with temporo-mandibular disorders, as well as preventive considerations. A historical review is presented, in which the concept of ideal occlusion is discussed, as well as its relationship to temporo-mandibular disorders. A protocol for diagnosis and treatment planning, as well as splint therapy is discussed. This is followed by a working classification of TMJ disorders, and numerous case examples describing the management of each category within the classification.

Practical Segment
Each participant will continue diagnosing cases using the Dolphin Arnett-McLaughlin diagnostic module. Cases begun in each participant's office will be reviewed. The construction, placement and adjustment of splints will be demonstrated.
